Emerald Green Patterns Land On This Stealthy Nike Air Max 97 There’s no doubt that the Nike Air Max 97 is one of Nike’s most popular silhouettes, which made its debut in 1997. The fact that Nike has been pumping out pairs for almost 25 years confirms their popularity. Nike has capitalized on the popularity of the sneaker through collaborations with Undefeated, Skepta, and Off-White over the last 24 years. Despite popular belief, the shoe’s design was really inspired by mountain bikers, not Japanese bullet trains. The Air Max 97 also carries significance as the company’s first shoe to feature a “full-length air unit”.
For its latest offering, Christian Tresser’s ground-breaking design will come in a “Black Emerald Green” colorway. The sneaker’s upper features a pitch-black synthetic leather and mesh construction, similar to other recent stealthy iterations. It is then layered with 3M Reflective Overlays which are in a shade of grey. Giving the sneaker’s color a slight contrast. This pair incorporates a greenish abstract pattern on the mid-foot panel, which is meant to mimic the looks of a jade emerald. This pattern is also found on the tongue labels. Under proper lighting, the branded mid-foot panels and tongue labels should shine with an iridescent finish. Underneath the upper, the midsole is covered in black leather. Additionally, the full-length air unit boasts a shade of black. To round it all up, the sneaker’s outsole is also covered in the shade of black found on the upper.
The Nike Air Max 97 Black Emerald Green will be priced at £160 Expect a release to take place soon on Nike.com and selected retailers.
