Nike Further Embraces Sisterhood With This Fall/Winter Air Force 1 Shadow Nike is ramping up its vision of empowering women on and off the field through various releases this year. Nike’s commitment to women’s rights is no accident. The company was named after a female figure after all: Nike, the Greek goddess of triumph. Her objective, like Nike’s, was to inspire victorious battles on history’s earliest battlefields.
This time around Nike will be releasing a new rendition of the Air Force 1 Shadow as part of the “Sisterhood” lineup. The Shadow, with its double design features and layered components, was inspired by women who are leaders in their communities. It’s all about boldly emphasizing the underlying characteristics of excellence and distinctiveness – an exquisite overemphasis.
The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow “Sisterhood” is made from a mixture of smooth and tumbling materials. Just like in other Shadows, you’d find double of everything. Featuring Gold “Sister” lace dub rats, “We Ride Together” printed on the insoles, and dice dangling from the Swooshes. While the silhouette does touch on notions of femininity, it manages to avoid the usual cliches. Rather a vibrant yellow takes the lead, coloring both heel and toe. Providing a stark contrast to the black and blue touches found on the majority of the upper’s spaces. A solid White AF1 rubber sole completes the double-layered appearance.
The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow “Sisterhood” will be available at select retailers and on Nike.com in the coming weeks. The retail price is expected to be £90.95 at Nike and footlocker.
